This planet orbits a globular cluster instead of a single star.
I don't know if it's possible for a planet in that situation to be warm enough to have liquid water on its surface, so everything here it's ammonia, from the snow to the internal fluids of the living things.

Complex organisms on this planet are sessile, there aren't animal analogues and the closer to them are fungus-like organisms (represented here by the grass-like things growing beneath the "plants"), and most relations are symbiotic or mutualistic due to the harsh conditions and lack of resources.
