This place is the outer moon of a Super Earth. You can see it in the sky, blue and tiny due to the great distance. This moon is small (Mars-sized) and has a thin atmosphere. In fact, it's very much like ancient Mars. And, just like that planet, it will get dry and cold over time. It will take a long while since, unlike Mars, has an active core and a magnetic field which will protect the atmosphere. However, the gravity it's too low to retain a thick atmosphere, so all this primitive biosphere is doomed.
